Please note : this vitorial has a lot of in common with another blend logos vitorials. Be free to skip some steps, you are already familiar with.

Creating Pentagons

Go to polygon tool ( hold left mouse on rectangle tool ), hit on your artwork to open polygon dialog box and set:

  1. Radius to 250px
  2. Number of corners to 5

Than click ok to create pentagon. Set the stroke color to cyan #51C5E6 value.

Create smaller pentagon

Now we need to create another pentagon 80% in size. Select your first one with selection tool and go to scale tool ( S on keyboard ). With double click we will open dialog box, where we need to choose uniform and set value 0f 80%. Click copy button to create smaller duplicate.

Set the stroke color of this pentagon to purple #51C5E6 value and move it to the bottom a couple of pixels with keyboard down arrow key.

Creating steps of large pentagon

Select both of your pentagons and set stroke weight to 2pt. In the end of this part we will achieve something like this :

Two pentagons of V logo

Creating and modifying our blend

Keep both of your pentagons selected and go to Object>Blend>Blend-Options… . In opened dialog box set spacing to Spacified Distance and set distance value to 0.1px and click ok. Use Alt+Ctlr+B ( Option+Cmd+B on mac) keyboard shortcut to make blend or go to Object>Blend>Make :

Select top anchor point with direct selection tool and holding shift key drag up to bottom path of the smaller pentagon. Than do the same operation with top point of our smaller pentagon to create letter V shape. Do not forget to hold shift key on your keyboard to move it in one axis ( see  .gif below ) :

Top point move

Select bottom points of the smaller polygon with Direct Selection Tool ( A ) and drag them to the center ( .gif below ).

joining bottom points

Select your new shape with Selection Tool ( “V” ) and scale it horizontally to make it more narrow.

Final touches with scale tool and direct selection tool

Use Direct Selection Tool ( “A” on keyboard ) and Scale Tool ( “S” on keyboard ) to adjust distance between different anchor points of your V logo.

As you can see on optimized gif below I narrowed distance between bottom points, moved central point to the top and top points to the bottom.
